Bali holiday tips - part 5

You're having a great time holidaying in Bali, but somehow you end up in a fight in Kuta in the early hours of the morning. What happens next?

BE WARY OF NIGHTCLUB SECURITY AND KNOW THAT THE AMBULANCE PROBABLY WON'T COME

Indonesian nightclub security guards are not screened for previous violent acts. They do not have to complete any crowd control training. And they do not face stringent penalties if they commit a violent act.

Most Indonesian security guards are in fact members of Balinese or Indonesian gangs. They are not allowed to work nightclub security if they are not.

Note: The likelihood of getting an ambulance to attend you on Legian Street at two in the morning on a Saturday night is next to impossible. Most times they will simply not bother to come, but if they do, be assured that it will take an extended amount of time for them to arrive. And it will be expensive.
